Enjoying Australia - Four Months in Paradise
From Megan Harvison - Four Months in Paradise

Last spring I spent four months studying in Australia at Bond Uni on the Gold Coast. I was able to go to Sydney during the Olympics. Sydney is a great city and did an absolutely amazing job with hosting the olympics. I also visited Fraser Island, The Whitsunday Islands, and Tasmania. I did things that I never imagined doing. I climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, went skydiving, snorkled in the great barrier reef, jetskiied and parasailed in the great barrier reef, climbed Mt. Amos and went to Port Authur. All were amazing. The only part I did not like was leaving. It was the best four months of my life. The people there are amazing and the culture and life style is like no other. They people are very nice and welcoming and their "no worries" policy is great. At Uni, the students worked very hard, and the classes were very challenging. They know how to work hard, and party better than any other culture I've witnessed. The Gold Coast was great, it has something ot offer everyone (as does all of Australia) and it is easy to get to Brisbane another great city. I think that Australia is a wonderful country that has a lot to offer the rest of the world. I'm counting down the time ,probably years :(, until I am able to return. I may be from the states, but australia is where my heart is. I highly recommend visiting or staying. While you're there travel as much as possible, see everything you can, even if you go broke (I know I did) and enjoy the pub (try a pub crawl). if you're from Australia, realize how great you have it and travel.
