    Travellers tales

ACT - Canberra Joys - A Story from Charlie from Brisbane, QLD.
    From "Brisbane Guest"
My name is Charlie and I spent two weeks in Canberra when I was twelve, seeing all the sights. At the age of eighteen I returned there to visit a sick relative. It was then that I discovered what I truly beautiful place Canberra is. In what other city in Australia are there as many trees lining the streets? The perfectly designed city is, well, perfect. Okay, so there really isn't as much night life as Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. However, the people, places and sights are far more memorable. The Royal Australian Mint, National Gallery, Science Centre, War Memorial are all fantastic tourist stops but if you really want to see what Canberra is about, just get on bus, go to footy match, visit the pub. Sounds like a 'bloke' thing to do, but that's how you meet the fantastic people of Canberra. Returning to Brisbane, friends asked how much I hated Canberra. I replied "I loved it."
