TAS - The Joys of Tasmania
    From: Ian Holz
During May ' 05 my wife and I and another couple set off from the Hunter Valley and headed south to Melbourne and on to Tasmania via the Spirit of Tas. We had 10 days touring Tassie. We were in a 4WD.This allowed us to get off the beaten track when we chose and we found some wonderful places. One of the highlights was a visit to Bruny Island. A great day trip!! Another memorable day was the trip from Zeehan north along the Western Explorer Road up to Marrawah and then on to Stanley. The whole trip was a highlight but these were a couple of standouts.

Back in Victoria we travelled down to Wilsons Promontory and then up the east coast. On advice from a bloke we met somewhere we dropped into Mallacoota for lunch. What a magnificent spot.We only spent a few hours there, would have loved to have spent a night, but time did not allow. We continued up the coast and our last night on the road was at a mate's place on Cambewarra Mountain ( behind Berry). Another beautiful spot. Then back to the Hunter.
